Pediatric Games

WHY WE BUILT IT

Made by the people who keep pediatric clinics running.

We are an IT managed services provider. Day to day we look after the computers, networks and phones of many pediatric clinics — so we spend a lot of time in waiting rooms, and we have seen what waiting is like for kids, parents and front-desk staff.

Busy, not glued

A waiting room needs enough to do to keep a child happily busy, but nothing so gripping that it ends in tears. Every game is short — a minute or two — each round ends by itself. No endless levels, no high-score boards, no ads and nothing to buy. When the nurse calls their name, stopping is easy.

A little learning in every game

Brushing, hand washing, healthy snacks, counting, letters, shapes and colors are woven into the play. It is not school — it is fun first — but kids leave a little more ready for the visit than when they came in. The Learning corner goes one step further: 40 short picture lessons about healthy smiles and healthy bodies, read aloud by the kiosk, each with a quick picture quiz. Every plan includes up to 5 of them, free.

Enough variety for the wait

Forty quick games, so a child does not run out of things to try during a normal wait. Your practice picks the line-up, the music and the look — your logo, colors and a mascot your patients will remember.

Built like IT people build things

Kiosks your staff never have to babysit: updates arrive on their own, the games keep working if the internet drops, and each kiosk is locked down so it reaches the internet only — never your office network. It holds no patient information.

Furniture, not a gadget

The kiosk is a 27-inch touch screen in a real wood cabinet, as sturdy as a custom piece of furniture, fixed directly to the wall studs. The computer, cables and power are locked behind the front panel, so little hands cannot get to them, and if the outlet it plugs into is visible, we ship a childproof outlet cover with it.
